January is a lot of things. A month of endings and of new beginnings, a wind-down to the holiday season and the start of the slog to February. It is also the beginning point of this blog. I'm not a very public person, but thought this would be a more fun way to document this year than soul-crushing social media. Our story beginneth thusly:
Making it a now annual tradition, I rang in the New Year at my friend Jack's house (who also has his own blog!).
I couldn't ask for a better group of idiots to start off this year with.
After that, nothing proceeded to happen for about a week. I was supposed to start my Senior Project, where we're off school for a month and do service, on the 7th, but because of the freak snowstorm that swept through St. Louis, I didn't actually start until the 9th. In the meantime I did build a pretty cool Lego mantis though.
But on the 9th, after days of delay, I finally started my senior project at Giant Steps of St. Louis. I don't have many pictures because of the whole "school thing where we're not supposed to have our phones out," but it was a ton of fun.
After yet another snow day on that Friday, Saturday the 11th and my 18th birthday along with it finally came. Me and some buddies went to Slick City out in Chesterfield to celebrate.
After a bit we got silly on the slides with some poses :).
At some point I got this cool picture of a tree in my backyard. Spooky.
Had to rep the new On Oakland TV merch.
At robotics we blew up an outlet not once, not twice, but 3 times before we threw out the powerstrip. It was for science.
We then dealt with it accordingly.
Later that day I went skating at Steinberg for the first time and got this picture.
Among Us night with the boys. There were in fact shenanigans.
The next day was my last day at Giant Steps before returning to school. It was an awesome experience, so if you need some volunteer hours or something to do this summer, I would highly reccommend it.
And thus continues my plight of getting the prettiest photos in the most inopportune of places. This is my high school parking lot.
That's it for this month, the blog will return in February with more shenanigans. In the meantime, here's what I was listening to in January.
Adios,
Mason
